Maps used in Community Resource Inventories
The Green Valley Institute offers resource inventory map sets to Conservation Commissions in towns located within the Quinebaug-Shetucket National Heritage Corridor. These map sets display a variety of resource data that can be viewed in many different combinations, and can be an integral component to implementing a community resource inventory, open space plan, or Plan of Conservation and Development.
Resource inventory map sets consist of a number of paper base maps and clear film overlay maps with a variety of features that can be viewed in many different combinations. Typically these maps are scaled at 1:24000 (1 inch = 2000 feet). A clear film blank worksheet is included, which can be used for further analysis derived from the maps themselves.
All maps feature the boundary of the town in which the map set is centered. The town boundary also functions as a template for aligning base and overlay maps.
